One thing the Chinees don't under stand is landing gear. Even when I spec the wire or carbon size they down size it. I've been using 1.5mm carbon for all my gear with 25mm wheels. They don't roll in grass but I come in high alfa and drop in anyway. On hard top the work great. Even for the times I come in regular in grass they just spring the airplane back a bit.

Maybe you could put a t brake kinda platform on the belly to use as kinda Ski?

Kinda like that idea. only we have no snow

It seems that generally 3d flyers just don't enjoy the landing gear too much. I personally love it. I have them all on my EPP creations although on 2 of them in the past I have made the landing gear so that you could unplug it but I almost always left it on.

Ok guys, I am about to finally build an Amos something. Which one do you think I should pick? This won't be my first 3D plane and I still have some blucore (my coveted private stash. Hopefully soon to be more.) and EPP left to build with.

Hehe, it's asphalt isn't it? I like your spelling better because I have certainly blamed the street for coming up and hitting my plane before. Going to go back through the thread to see which one grabs my attention. I probably should do a biplane since I have never had a 3d biplane before. I remember building one out of blucore back in 2001 but I was sick of using Nimhs and IPS motors that kept dying so quickly. Man that seems a long time ago.

FirstShirt I see you've seen that same email where every word is misspelled and you could still read the entire email. Pretty cool huh.

Jerry, i think i like that one best of all of the Ballerina,s you have posted, No brakes on the rudder for this one?

I think i fugured out your paint fadeing method. Going to be trying that real soon.

also flew the other thing last night. you know the one i mean. rog'ed from the back deck into a cross wind and i was shocked .didnt expext it to leave the ground but inside 24" it was airborn at under 1/4 throttle so the maiden was on in 10 to 15 mph head winds when it got to the side of the house.

Ewo,

Sorry to hear about the short maiden, been there done that.

The paint fade is very easy to do. Spray a light coat of the lightest color. Next spray the next lightest color making sure to move the spray can further forward and then add the last coat moving the spay even further forward.

Thanks for the compliment, I think it is my favorite color scheme. I don't know yet if it will need the T-Brakes, the slats were pretty effective on the Bling Bling and I am hoping that they will be on the Ballerina too. So far the build is coming out nice and light, about 50 grams.

Yep, thats what i figured. thanks for the conformation on it though. sounds easy enough. Love the leading edge slats
It wasnt a terribly short maiden Jerry. It was actually a pretty good maiden. for the wind to be kicking that way the nose pointed into the wind when it got to the side of the house and just kinda hung there . lets just say i wish i had the video camera person here.

after playing in the wind for 3 or 4 minuts Kinda flying it like a Kite and an "almost" contact with the ground. i brought it back down on the gravel drive without even a scratch.

shooting for video this weekend. wind or no wind. !
Now i know it can take it

We also feel the need for landing gear since we were moved to a new parking lot down the street .... smaller , more trees , sharp rock driveway, (no canals though)...just tears UP the bottom of my Amos Moses(and everything else)..Aargh !!!!! Got some GWS SS wheels from a FB ....making gear today ....Amos IS a GREAT PLANE.... so many here, you'd be proud!!!!!
Spelling???? ...If we're going to have to spell and punctuate correctly, forget it ......That would eliminate MOST of us....
