Fokker D-VII Maiden Flight

I just maidened my Fokker 42" span. Three flights were successful but tracked left circles. Landed with right aileron trim. Do I need to add some right thrust to remedy.

You could try a tad of right rudder.
That's a really nice plane you have built. Excellent!

Fokker D-VII

During flight I had applied right rudder and right aileron. Plane responded to aileron but not rudder. Plane was build with no dihedral. Doesent right thrust compensate for plane going left? If so I need more than 3*. Thanks so much for the generous praise . A normal build for me takes 3 days to a week. This one took 2 weeks

All my aerobatic planes have no dihedral and all have a little right rudder trim.
This is to compensate for slipstream rotation which causes left turning flight as it impacts with the vertical tail surface.
But all models have differing requirements. It does seem that your plane is asking for a good serving of sidethrust.

Fokker

What would be slipstream rotation? I had to change motors the Fokker was underpowered the windings started turning black. I put on a larger Donkey motor from Hobby King and a 11x6 prop more right thrust the Fokker still makes big left circles . This hasent happened to me before with more builds in my life than we can count

Is it rolling left or yawing left??. If you have noticeable right thrust in the motor, you may have a warp in the wings if it's rolling left.
Also, measure from the rudder hinge line to each wing tip at the ail. hinge line. The measurements should be identical. Maybe my tired eyes are deceiving me but from the top, rear view, it looks like the right wing is slightly ahead of the left wing. Probably my tired eyes.

Thrust

Your tired eyes are correct I thought the same thing when I looked at the pic. It is yawing to the left . Let me measure it. During the build I used four jigs and measured over and over. The distance between the tail and wingtip. Man I hope it's still even..... AAHHH

Yawing

Ok scared as I was to measure the Fokker I did outter tip of top wings leading edge to tail hindge was even and the top and bottom wings are even distance between them. Crazy the pic does look like the plane would track left but measurements are correct.

Good to know it's only my tired eyes.
Another thing you might try is to put it in a long flat glide with the power off, and see what it does. This takes the motor out of the equation. If it still does the same thing, it could be a warp or whatever. You might even try more side thrust, just to see what it does. Looking down from the top, you should be able to see the sidethrust.
Sometimes it's hard to pinpoint.

Glide ratio

Great idea everyone at the feild asks does it glide chop the throttle lets see it glide.... I can't seem to remember if I had to be on the control sticks during glide landings or not. Will try tomorrow morning and give you the results. Good thinking and thanks for your time/ advice. AUW is ouch 31.75 ozs
