test tank day,, 9lbs 2oz to a nice waterline, hull and running gear 2lbs 11oz.. 6 lbs 7oz left for decking, details, fittings, radio gear and main batteries.. should be easy if I keep a good eye on the weight of the deck gear and ordnance.. hope to leave about a pound for final adjustment ballast..

test method for making portholes, 3/16ths (equals 18inches 1/96th scale) brass eyelets, roughed up on inside and filled with a resin mix,, hole drilled in hull, burr and reamers used to get tight fit (hull is a "fail" brooklyn section) eyelet flange makes glueing in from inside easy.. tape to protect hull while sanding down porthole to needed level.. hull and porthole painted over , porthole sanded to remove paint and a drop of clear gloss added to surface.. (test hull paint was not dry during final sanding) 90 some portholes to make now..

my evergreen plastic order showed up on monday, so the hull rub-rails were added, running gear was all given its final fitment and bench tested, though very tempted holding off on hull painting until most of the details are in place..
