Have 1 pre-ordered at horizon. Why you rubbing it in that you got yours first?

I too have one on preorder from Horizon (as of today). I'm so pleased with the way the micro MiG 15 flys I just had to get the baby version of my V1 70-mm Habu. Looks like fun!

Here the first mod.
I use 0.7mm Carbon rod to safe the tail for landings in heavy grass and other obstacles. And for the main wings only Tesa on the leading edges.

The first consumer to crash the Habu?

OK, got some good Doppler runs in this morning and then some take off & landing video too. I'll do the tech work later today.

I think I can lay claim to fame as being the first consumer to crash the Habu too!

I got whipped by some rotor wind near the deck and smacked down. Somehow, I was airborne again so climbed to come around and land while missing trees, lamp posts etc. Snapped the fuse and wing but it held together to let me land it.
Video to follow - although the static camera missed the pancake I did.

If they all end up nose heavy like NC's and the other youtube video posted on it, this will be a "no-brainer" mod for all of us. Smallest I have is 1.0mm though, so that will have to do.

That sucks man! I hope it's easily fixable.

Tom: already fixed it. The fuse front was a little buckled - pointing down and left thanks to the foam getting whacked. After gluing the break, I held it over a heat gun while holding the fuse in an over corrected position and it became neutral again once I let it go after cooling.

The crash revealed a weak point of the Habu being that the wing root is VERY thin at the fuse. My fault for not replacing the tape that joins the fuse and root of the wing. I think it would have helped support the area during the crash. I had to use some spakfiller on the wing tip to tidy up the ground rash it got when it hit the deck.

Tamiya yellow is a good color match for the Habu.

I forgot to mention I did Doppler passes with the landing gear on too and yes, it did slow it down a little, as would be expected.

After flying it with the gear off up until now, it looked 'out of place' having the landing gear in the down position.
