Too bad I don't have a complete lower sitting around to slap it together so I can shoot it tomorrow.
You know you will be getting that lower as soon as you can

This going to cost you more than a$150 air rifle.

Looked at Wally World yesterday and they had a pretty good selection. I'll keep the price below $150 on mine but the question is do I want .22 or .177? Probably only going to plink with it but wouldn't mind some thing that can make a coyote move along.

Punkie, Noob and the rest, tell me what caliber to get.

Oh, and brand names. Gamo, Benjamin, Crossman? Best brand for the price?
.177 flatter trajectory, .22 harder hitting.

Either will take down small animals like bunnys with a head shot.

All you will do to a coyote is wound and piss it of.

The only hunting I do with mine are Crows chasing the songbirds from the feeders. We have so many over wintering Crows they call our town "Crowtown". All it takes is a few donors to teach the flock to go elsewhere for food. Generally any shot within 40 yards is an easy one. Past that the pellet drops too much to get a reliable hit unless the distance is know within a yard or two.

Chairgun screen shots

Here's a couple of shots from the Ap, Chairgun

The first two are .177. the 7.9 and the 10.5gr pellets. The last two are shot from my .22.

Oh, no sir, I'll never put a lower on this and make it operable. I only bought it to keep it away from anyone that might want to. Its the right thing to do.

I'll still buy an air rifle after Christmas. The more I think about it the more I realize it would be good to have, besides being fun. I can take it out when my grandson comes over to shoot his.

On the point about a .22 (rimfire) being better for pest control I don't want to shoot in certain directions around my house. Tho these air rifles are getting close to the same ballistics I can adjust velocity down depending on the situation.

As has been suggested a good airsoft might be a good deterrent for pests too big to kill with an airgun.

A stream of plastic bbs from an electric airsoft on full auto, you are not going to wound it, but its going to sting.

It will be fun for your grandson to fire as well.

Is that the upper you lost going over the bridge on the way home from buying it?

Nope, it was in the canoe.

Well, here's what I got instead of the air rifle. When I got home I found a lower in the neighbor's trash bin. Thankfully i got a photo of it before the maritime disaster.

OK, here is the Crosman pellet upper for your new lower (if it ever washes up):

Yeah, I know, more $$$ than a real one! Pyramyd would probably go 10% off, but still big bucks.

Very cool but way too pricey. I would thinK for that money you could buy a much better air rifle than that thing could ever be. Add in a lower that'll boost the price a minimum of $100.

Add in a lower and you're discharging a firearm...

But really, that thing is silly.

Yeah, it's based in the Marauder which makes more sense for most people:

they have a few lookalikes; this is a breakbarrel gas piston:
