Upgrading the electronics is pretty cheap to do now. (well except the transmitter - that part you'll need to spend some money on).

If you don't need a high performance Stryker, you can get all the electronics pretty cheap.

$3 HTX 9 gram servos or it's equivalent 9g Detrum servo on HobbyPartz
$13 for a 40 amp ESC
$30 for a AR410 Spektrum receiver (assuming you have a Spektrum Transmitter)
$15-$30 for a cheap brushless motor

You could save even more money by using a Lemon RX for $5.95. I flew several of my planes at SEFF last week with those receivers in them and never had a single glitch.

True, but you don't need to on purposely buy expensive stuff for something if something cheap will do. Sounded like he was trying to save money trying to keep the plane as-is. In brushed form, that plane only went about 50 maybe 60 mph. So if you're trying to keep your garage sale bargain to still be a bargain then you don't want to turn around and dump several hundred more into it. Then ya might as well go out and buy a new one. (granted you can't get this particular model anymore except maybe in blank foam bodies wherever you can find them)
