Time to move some stuff I'm not flying.
The first to go is the Hobby Lobby Executive Jet with mechanical retracts. I have clocked this over 80mph. It flies great, and glides forever. My biggest problem with this is even at 80mph, it looks like it should be going so much faster. It's had one rough landing that ripped out the main landing gear once. Not so much a problem with the gear or landing, as it was the wood support that wasn't glued very well at the factory. There is a small piece of foam near the edge of the aileron that was broke off on that landing. It has been glued back in place. There is also the usual hanger rash associated with foamies. As indicated on the included battery, I only have 5 flights on this. It includes: Hobby Lobby Executive Jet HL executive jet retracts. 2 E-flite 3800kv BL420 outrunners 2 Hobby King 40a ECS's Turnigy 30-40c 3S4500 4 Turnigy 1160a servos (2 for retracts, 1 rudder, 1 elevator) 2 HXT900 servos (ailerons) I think that's it. I'm well over $325 into this, even if you're using the "on sale" price the plane is now listed at. I'll let this one go for $200. That's just the price of the plane and motors. Let me know if you want more/different photos. |

Next in the guillotine is an E-flight Taylorcraft 450.
I purchased this used, and crashed from RCGroups. The previous owner tip-stalled and broke the cowling and wood motor mount. I rebuilt the wood motor mount, and purchased a new cowling. I've flown it two or three times. It flies good, and takes off and lands like a tail dragger. He broke off the tail section for shipping. There are some small tears in the covering from the repair. There is a section of covering missing where the prior owner probably had his satellite antenna mounted. The motor had one of the wires break near the motor. I soldered it back. It goes into the motor in a different location on the motor than the other two wires, but it seems to have done the trick. This flies on a 3S2200ish battery. (not included) Included in this is: E-flight Taylorcraft 450 Brushless 450-480 motor. I have no clue what kind, but it swings a 10x8 prop with authority. I purchased it from "The Don" here on RCG's. He's quality people. Four Futaba S3114 servos. "Don's Pentium 30 amp esc" The servos are a couple years old, but have very few flights on them. They're $15 a piece, so if you want this without the servos, I'll knock off $50, otherwise, I'd like to get $100 for this one. That's essentially the electronics, and the airframe for free. Oh, i almost forgot. This also has a custom built aluminum prop nut on it. Makes for easy tightening. |
