Nimh to Lipo for gliders
I have a few gliders (no motors) and was debating to chuck in a lipo instead of the old nimh to save weight, I was just wondering if anything else was needed before it connects to the Rx?
I have a burnt out ESC that still operates servos etc so was tempted to use that.
Any ideas or pointers?

Yeah firstly don't do it if the places you fly are fire risk area's other than that you need ballast up front so its better to have useful weight rather than a lump of lead and if you run eneloops you'll have no problem with power. Leave the Lipo's where they belong in the electric planes .

Agree re: LiFePo or NiMH versus Lipo. Slope models can crash hard and often we fly in wildland areas where the fire risk is real and potentially serious. And we need weight anyways. So just piling on with the others - save Lipos for where their light weight and small size are advantageous.
