HobbyLobby F-4 Phantom Thread

I got this in email this morning along with the new F-16. The F-4 looks fun! $249 RTF is pretty good if you ask me but im sure many will mod this thing to death

Anyone getting one? Let the discussion begin!

A giant influx of F-4's is not a bad thing, I for one and going to get at least one of them. Now I have to make the difficult decision of deciding witch one.

28-3/8" wingspan, 43-3/8" length, 250 sq. in. wing area, 34 oz. flying weight. This all-molded foam airplane comes completely painted in an attractive matte finish with waterslide decals applied. The 70mm fan with brushless outrunner motor is pre-installed, as is the 45A brushless speed control. The jet has 5 pre-installed servos: (2) ailerons, (2) elevators, nose wheel steering. Landing gear is fixed but can be easily removed for hand launching.

per HL's official description

Looks like the one EDO Models has out. Just a resell of a tiny jet.

Hmm... looks better than the F-16 co-sell as far as scale appearance.

I would need to see stats before I seriously considered it though.

ummm guys...the F-4 is an ARF. It is NOT a RTF package. There is no radio included. Now, I can understand not wanting the fan/motor/battery, but hell for 249 your getting a LOT of included stuff including 5 servos, a 45amp esc, etc.

The HL F-16 is a larger version of the kyosho F-16. The difference is, its bigger and has ailerons and a rudder instead of just elevons. Its the same design though including canopy and panel lines....probably the same plant in china makes both. Either that, or the china plant that makes this HL F-16 took a kyosho one and simply scaled it up some and added the functional control surfaces. Who knows.

Fortunately, the F-4 here looks a lot better then the Kyosho one since the control rods on the Kyosho are VERY visible on the top of the plane. The paint schem is also different.

Pretty sweet, but if it flys like the other HL RTF jets it's going to need some horsepower!!

Isn't there an F16 out that's the same size as this one also with the front landing gear in the same spot?

GWS is coming out with a 70mm F4 also
