Definitely worth the drive, good flying, and good company, we had quite a few laughs up on the hill. The lift might not have been huge, but it was still enough to keep things entertaining. I had a blast with the man on man runs, particularly when Keith , and I had those close almost trading paint laps. Next time I think I'll grab a hotel the night before, 3.5 hours of sleeping in the truck wasn't cutting it, I couldn't even speak coherently, not that I ever speak coherently.
Even got the Energic maidened, that thing rides surprisingly light. I brought it In once, dialed back the flap to elevator mix. Threw it back out, let the rain collect on my glasses for a while, then proceeded to land right spot on a cow turd.
That drive back home was a beast, torrential rain all the 4.5 hour back to Seattle.

Well it wasn't the best lift, but it was lots of fun to say the least.
Got in some light air sloping and lots of air time with my old Bat electro.
Great company and lots of laughs.
Only had the one mid air and also only saw one bald eagle too.
Most amazing part of the day was just how light of air those
EXPENSIVE WEASELS can fly in......
thanks to all the Washington guys for making the long journey down and for the great time.

Yes, the trip to PB was another good one. As others have said, the lift was marginal but still made for a couple of great days of flying. Others still don't believe us but Dan and I still have some sunburn leftover from Friday.
My forays into MOM laps were an adventure to say the least. Chris and I had some great runs as long as I kept cutting the turns to keep up with him. My 2M Gabby was quite a bit slower than his Espadita (I think that is what he was flying). We had some great formation turns that appeared to be quite close. Later we had 3 planes doing MOM and I tried to make it 4. Entered the turn a bit late and ended up hitting Tim and his Focus. Luckily the Gabby went into the spin and the Focus flew onward. It wasn't a hard hit but enough to send me into the hill. Unfortunately, that area of the hill was one of the rocky areas so the impact split the wing and fuse up pretty good. It may be repairable but no big deal. Of the 4 planes out there, I was glad it was the Gabby that took the damage. Tim and I looked at the Focus later and we could just find one small area of blue on his nosecone with a slight chip.
All in all, it was a fun day in spite of the minimal lift and off and on raindrops!!
