hey dagger, im from maryville. used to live next to sandy springs park. where abouts do you live? ive also got a p-3 f-16 im building. its rare to see someone from maryville, or tenn., for that matter. theres no hobby shops or much of an rc community there. i know of the rc club at the dump, but its nowhere near as big as it is here in georgia. without a hobby shop, theres not much access to rc there. guess you have to either drive to knoxville, or order everything online.

I know the feeling. Theres 1 LHS here but I never see anyone there minus the owner and his wife. I've only ever see 1 other person in this town flying any sort of plane and it was an elderly guy flying what I think was one of the airhogs planes from walmart.
Dagger, I'm gonna try and get the electronics in tonight. Then I'll just have to glue the bottom on and fiberglass it. I may be able to get it flyable by tomorrow. |

I fly at Amerine Park and the new Coulter Grove School yard. I am planning on AMA and the Blount County Club as I want some retractable gear planes. Foamie jets, belly birds and skidmaster edf's may get old. Up the hill from Blount Mem. Hospital. Yeah, Turkey Creek Hobbytown and the net ar ethe sources. Nice to hear from you.

Went and got ply wood today after the dentist. I was a little out of sorts and grabbed 1/64 instead of 1/16. Think I am going to use it anyway, along with some carbon rod, and will also add a top piece to the pylons, then paint the whole thing in epoxy when I'm done. Should be plenty strong, right? Or do I need to get the 1/16?

Agreed. If you're going to use carbon, I suggest carbon tow, and completely box the pylons in black gold.
Twisting is the failure you need to stop. A couple of rods like that are good for bending, but won't do much for twisting. |
