I imagine the telemetry will be in lines with the telemetry found on the 14SG...

Wow, but wait,
Is Futaba introducing a new telemetry protocol as well? So far telemrtry is only available with FASSTest.
And now T-FHSS? Will new telemetry receivers with T-FHSS function with T14SG? Can't wait for cheaper telemetry options.

If it won't be backwards compatible with 14SG/18MZ, this would be really bad move, creating even more fragmentation into Futaba's lineup.

I think the video indicates that this radio supports fastest RX for telemetry

--edited

i stand corrected there is something called T-FHSS RX that supports telemetry over FHSS

I know I can't figure out Futaba's strategy with the various FASST, FASSTEST, FASSTESTER approaches - oh yea S-FHSS... Other than that, its a nice looking radio with good features but really - alkaline batteries?

For 10 years I never used anything but Futaba...

I've only owned Futaba radios. Never had issues with them. Is nice that Now telemetry is finally on the more inexpensive Futaba radios.

The telemetry RX are still expensive.

FM technology was well understood and specs were all public domain. with the move to 2.4 GHz everything changed. Each company created their own proprietary protocols. Made business sense since then JR people could only use JR RX and Futaba people could only use Futaba RX. (reverse engineering was and still is very expensive)
The protocol soup was derived from that. and Futaba making things better without wanting to support "legacy stuff"
Just like Apple. Futaba has no issues rendering old stuff obsolete.
Love it or hate it. That is the way they have done business for a long time. And some people have no problem with it. Others (just as with apple) will never agree.
I stopped arguing about it a long time ago.

More to the protocol soup... but if it does what you want go for it !

It wouldn't surprise me that the 14SG will not be able to use the "cheaper" T-FHSS RX

LOL

I'll hold out for this, for me the 14SG is too expensive, the 8FG is just right but no telemetry and then I was considering Hitec Aurora 9x etc.

I assume FHSS is still darn reliable like it's FASST brother?
