MCX2 Beginner settings for DX7S, Help!?

My 14 year old daughter has taken an interest in radio control and asked for a helicopter. I bought her a Blade MCX2 and plan to allow her to use my Spektrum DX7S.

I'd like to make things as easy for her to learn as possible and hoped that somebody here could help me with controller settings.

I'm having a hard time finding setting info and I'm pretty new to RC hobbies myself so ANY help at all would be appreciated!

Treat it like a 4 channel airplane. There is nothing that requires helicopter settings on an MCX2. Your daughter will get tired of it in 1/2 hour; it's much too easy for a teenager.

Most anything you do to liven up a coax will result in blade strikes or falling out of the air. They can't bank or handle large sudden movements. If your daughter just wants to have a little fun, the MCX2 will be fine. But, if she is serious about flying, you will find out fast that you will need to move up. My 14yo grandson mastered coax, quad, FP and CP helis in one day, then lost interest. Video games are more of a challenge. That's the world we live in.

Yeah... So this thing lost it's glamour pretty quickly.

I'll be reading through the forums looking for something a little more capable to replace it.

A WL Toys V911 is what a lot of people start with. It's cheap and durable. It's probably fine for you. For a teenage girl who's serious about learning, it won't do for long. Your best bet to teach both of you that will advance your skills pretty far is the Blade Nano QX quad, either flavor (regular or 3D). They have multiple flight modes that are pretty good for advanced beginners, all the way up to very experienced. A serious teenager with any kind of video game skill will be flying the Nano QX 3D inverted in 2 or 3 days. But, it will still be fun and challenging and you can show off to your friends, because most people never get that far. I know I have a terrible time flying inverted, just too old... my brain doesn't adjust that fast. If you have to think about what you are doing, you already crashed.
