ive uploaded to post #1 a hex file for the 8chan mega8 version of diy flysky rx. fuses are c0a4. wiring is same as in the prototype photo:

pd7-0=chan1-8
pb5=cs
pb4=sck
pb3=dio
pb2=io1

to bind:

1. turn on tx
2. short ch8 to gnd and apply power
3. wait 5 sec then disconnect ch8, led on pc5 goes on to indicate link

ill add a diagram and more photos when i get a chance. i think this should be enough to get one running now assuming i havent made a mistake somewhere or left anything out.

This is cool, what are the odds of a version that uses a gyro from S107 or V911 and has 4 motor outputs to be used in a tandem coaxial?

good call. actually that is already available on one of the half gram versions i was playing with. 1 motor pwm pin, 3 servo pwm, 4 actuator. havent really tested this on a plane but it looks good on the scope. added to the list in post #1.

not necessarily true. ive already succeeded in writing basic rudder controlled rtl code which seems to be working so far. turns out parsing nmea strings and basic waypoint sequencing are much easier to implement than those gyro/accel algorithms. none of that tricky pid stuff. maybe some day incorporate it into the rx firmware as a option to minimize lost planes. maybe.

That would be awesome,...plane stabilization could be done with other boards (like the kk2 or naze32 with openaero2 or openaero32 software)...so the receiver would just control the rudder when it goes into failsafe..That would be really awesome!

Hi Dave, I am very interested in this, but unfortunately I do not have a Turnigy or FlySky transmitter, and as mentioned before, they are cheap, but I prefer my DX7s. Also I dont want to spend money on another transmitter that I am not going to use for anything else (most likely), and I am a kid (11 yrs old) so I do not have that much money in the first place. Is it possible to make a little reciever like the deadbug one that is DSM2 or DSMX compatable? Thanks.

Yep, I know about Lemon RX too. In fact I was looking at this one (link below) a couple of days ago, but at 1.41 grams, it is still a bit too heavy and too big for what I was looking for. Thats why the deadbug reciever caught my attention - a cheap, small, lightweight reciever. I am thinking about buying a DT rx used to save money.
