Question
Lipo's of different AH all in parallel...

Lets say I have a center 5000mah, and two 2200 mah's lipos as "wing tanks" all wired together in parallel....

The load should drag all down equally shouldent it??

No problem at all running different capacities in parallel provided they're all the same cell count. Just be sure that they're at the same charge state prior to connecting and derate to the lowest capable pack (e.g. - two 40C packs in parallel with a 30C pack should be treated as a 30C pack).

Also, be careful with long battery to ESC leads if you plan to have 'wing tanks' as long battery leads can wreak havoc on your ESC. Most ESC manufacturers recommend 12" maximum battery to ESC leads.

Yeah what I figured Mark, thanks. i have mig-17 and zero room for any more battery in the fuse cause of the ducting, but i have 2 drop tanks Thinking of 2x2200 mah 3s wired in series then connected to the main lead which is 6s. So each tank would have a 2200 3s.

You know i tried to contact Hobbywing about long battery-esc wires, and got nothing from them. I have an airliner that runs about 4.5 feet from batts to esc's. Seems to run perfectly fine but... maybe should add capacitors??

Im not sure what the deal with that is exactly.

Just realized that the higher capacity battery would hold the voltage up in the depleted pack/packs so there wont be any low voltage damage on the smaller capacity packs. Is that right?
