Open Discussion of Medusa Research Products

Welcome to the Medusa Research Product Discussion Area.

We at Medusa Research value user feedback and sugesstions and look forward to your comments.

Who is Medusa Research?

Our company (Medusa Research, Inc.) has been in business for many years doing custom hardware design, embedded microprocessor design, embedded microprocessor programming, and custom windows programs.

Not long ago we recognized a need in the R/C arena for engineered products, for electrics, rather than those cooked up in someone’s basement. So we decided to design and develop quality engineered products for the R/C market.

We currently offer a full range of brushed ESC’s, BEC’s, and other products for the electric R/C hobbyist.
See the products we currently offer at our web site www.medusaproducts.com.

We will soon be offering our line of “AfterBurner” brushless motors that have been designed and engineered for performance.
One of the motors in this line will create a lot of interest when it is introduced later this year.

We are also developing several new innovative products that will create a lot of excitement in the ESC arena.

We endeavor to improve and design “Engineered Products for the RC Enthusiast” that perform and are easy to use.

Regards,

Medusa Research, Inc.

Excellent. I am looking at your power analyzer now in australia. Its at a great price. Im concerned about two things.

Do you get voltage drop across the connection wires? Are there different versions of the Power Analyzer? Ie the normal and the pro ? If so how can I tell which one is being sold?

The voltage drop due to our unit is negliable.

There are currently two models available at the moment:
Power Analyzer
Power Analyzer Plus
The only difference is that the Plus model has a serial interface so that you can record and plot your readings on a PC.

We will be coming out with a third model the first quarter next year called the Power Analyzer Pro. The Pro model has additional inputs for RPM, two Temps and an Aux input that can be used with the optional MRI load cell (i.e. scale) to measure thrust. It will also have a PWM output used to control the ESC from the PC. Both the RPM and one temp sensor will be included on the base model.

Regards,

Jeff

Any updates with regard to your Brushless ESC's? When will they be for sale?

Any predictions as to how much and will they come with arming switch like your Brushed ESC's?

Thank you!

We would expect sometime towards the latter part of the summer.
At this point price wise all we can say is they will be very competitive.
Yes they will come with an arming switch.

wooohooo, i'd been looking at the plus and wanting one, but then seeing the hyperion with rpm was torn on what to get. for my use the hyperion would have been just too expensive by the time i added the shunt, pc cord. hope the new pro isnt as bad.

Catkicker,

We now have a new and better models out. The Power Analyzer II has better resolution and many new features. You can also add on a USB interface for configuring the display and recording data.

But wait, theres more.

We also have a NEW model, the Power Analyzer Pro that adds RPM, two temperature sensors and a thrust measurement, and even optional data recording module. There is also a control output for an ESC or for testing servo's. It has USB built in and and to many features to list here.

Check out our web site for more information here: Medusa Power Analyzers

The brushless ESCs are progressing a bit slower then what we would like but we have been very busy with our new Power Analyzer II and Pro series of instruments.
We are going out for first pass printed wiring boards on our first model this week however much work has been completed already to get to this point.
Once the testing of this initial model is completed the other models will come fairly quickly.
At this point they will not be available until December.

Regards,

MRI
