Hitech HS -82MG servo problem

Hi guy's. ...
I got a PA Addiction X and trying to setup the jr 9303 helicopter radio.

I can't get the servo arms on hitech HS HS-82MG servos to be at 90 degrees mechanically. I use the subtrim and takes between 50 to 70% to get it to be 90 degrees. I know it's too much subtrim.

Please help me out in get this done.
I really appreciated

Rohan

Set subtrim at zero. Remove servo arm from servo. Install at 90 deg.

As long as you're not running the end points out to 150/150 it will be fine. Just make sure the servo moves the full range of the stick throw.

Do you have any other arms with the servo? Some arms have the splines set just a few degrees or fractions different than others in relation to the arm.

Why do you feel that is too much subtrim anyway? If it gets the arm to center you should still have all your normal trim and normal travel available.

Which is normal with most Hitec servos. They use 24 teeth on the spline so even if you have a servo horn with 4 arms no matter how you turn it at 90 or 180 it will always be off by the same amount. For this reason I prefer Futaba servos which use a 25-tooth spline on their servos so by using a 4-arm servo horn the maximum offset will be 1.8. Using a 6-arm horn gives max offset of only 1.2.

With the Hitec servo you may want to use the disk and drill your own hole exactly where you want it.

David,

There were three different horns came with the servo one disk, one two sided and a four sided. I tried two of them except the disk. It's not working.

Thanks for the link I will try the way he explains and see.

Thanks

I had the same problem. Now I have a Taranis I can centre the servo in the servo page.

Happy days!
