Wedgehog, what a terrible experience! I'm am sorry that you have to go through that. To me, it wasn't whether the S800G was good or not, it was simply a matter of a bad retailer, selling you a returned item as new! I would simply return this and never do business with that outfit again. Hopefully, you are not too put off by one bad retailer. Good luck to you in finding and owning a good flying machine.

Hi mate, I bought it from Amazon, although to be fair it was a trader selling through them called toys2media, I have done the returns procedure and Amazon have sent the email to them, so I am just waiting to see what they say. They can't argue as I only received it today and under the UK distance selling regulations I can return it for any reason withing the first 7 days. I will let you know what happens, I would be quite happy to have a replacement as I like the look of the Heli, shame the TX on my chinook S026 doesn't work with it.

I'm glad to hear that there is recourse for returning. Syma helicopters are quite good out of the box. By and large, Syma's IR Tx falls into one of the two families. Unfortunately for you, S026G is one, and S800G is the other. While the S026G Tx might feel more comfortable in hand, with longer control sticks, it also lacks the ability to go 4 CH. So, you are pretty much stuck with the new Tx.

I agree Heli, I was so impressed by the build quality of the Chinook I also ordered the Bigger one, the 34G and when I saw that this was a Syma I thought it should be good then, but it's obviously what you said, they sent me a returned item :-(
I have a HK 450 and 500 for when it's warm outside and I have also ordered a Hubsan and a V222 and a V911 Pro from Banggood, but I guess there will be quite a wait for them to arrive

Hi WedgeHog, where in the UK are you?

Syma IR families are as follows...

S107, S107C, S109, S111 and believe it or not, S800. The Trim control on the S107tx does channel mixing for the S107 but it also transmits the IR data for the trim channel which is ignored by the S107 speaking heli, the roll on the S800 is controlled by trim on the S107 Tx.

S026, maybe S012 and S010

S026G and S108 are the same, S108 simply ignores the pitch trim data.

So we only have S107, San Huan and almost WLToys (branded as EVO by Amerang UK) done but I'm working on (I'm pretty much Beta tester and code grabber, while another member, very skilled in Arduino and C is doing the coding till I'm smart enough) a universal Ir heli remote/PPM in-IR out module.
