Lost/found model poll

I have seen quite a few lost model threads recently so it got me wondering how many models have been lost and how many people have found their model. But to make things intresting i have added a selection for how many people have found a plane that wasnt theirs

Your poll really needed to allow for multiple selections. It's entirely possible to answer "Yes" to the first three questions or the last three questions, or practically any combination of those.

Ive lost one model, never to have seen it again. It was found a couple of months later by the local yatch club, but they did not recover it and I never got it back, nor saw the wreckage. I know several people who have been out looking for their own model and ended up finding someone else's. I also know several people who have both lost several models and never found them and also lost models and found them.

Yea sorry about that. I realised the mistake as soon as i created the poll but couldnt find anyway to edit it. If a mod can that would be great

My first post on here and it's to admit i lost a plane lmao.

I had a simple 2 channel skymode (twin engine variable engine speeds to turn) that i'd just put a 2s 1300 lipo in for longer flight times.

5 mins after I launched it a combination of wind and a thermal (and no elevator to help me escape) took it clean out of my sight after disappearing over a line of trees. 2 hours searching 4 long grass fields and still no sign of it.

Luckily I learnt that lesson with a cheap model. unfortunetely the lipo wasn't quite as cheap. Time to fit plane locators to all future models I think.

I've lost one plane (but found it). It was a Goldberg Gentle Lady glider with a .049 on it years ago. I started the engine and launched the plane, but forgot to turn on the receiver. So it gently climbed in a big spiral under no control until it ran out of gas, then gently spiraled down nearly a mile away. Took some searching on the ground to find it. I guess that's what free-flight is, don't care for it much.

Lost a bandit for a month during the rainy season Did aerial photography runs over the forest with a slow stick and finally tracked it down. Lipos ballooned when I tried to charge them but everything else was fine

(counting lost as unfindable within the same day as the crash/flyaway)
I have lost 4. 3 of them were found/returned.

1976 Lost a 2 channel .09 powered flew away due to control failure. 4 months later returned by a farmer (what was left of it) This one got over 5 miles from point of take-off
1977 Lost a FF scale model .049 powered never seen again.
1978 lost a 3 channel fly-away disoriented due to distance. Returned by the Barber, 2 weeks later, who's roof it landed on. (virtually intact) This one got 2 miles away.
1985 Lost 4 channel .35 powered CL conversion in a soybean field. Had to wait till the bean plants dropped thier leaves to see it, found it myself 2 months later.
