Finally got some time to make the video of me flying my lightweight build Stryker from a few weeks ago. It was a windy gusty day... Any feedback would be appreciated!

That looks good impostor. It handles the wind pretty well.
If that is a 2 cell you will have a lot more power and speed on a three cell. Just remember to not run that motor of 3 cell with the 8X4 prop. Use a 7 X 3.5 or like I do cut the 8X4 prop down to just under 7 inches (6.8), round the ends off and balance. You will have about 5 more ounces of thrust and 10 mph of speed.

I've built 6 Strykers while fuses were available for $20 shipped
with 19gr. motor was still abale to carry digital camera (modified Canon SD1000 ) , AUW 1lb at most.

i'm having bad luck with these headuprc motors and escs. First set died on like my 10th flight. using the 2712-17 motor and power up 10amp esc with 7x3.5 prop and 11.1v 860mah batt all from headsuprc... the esc started smoking and I ripped the battery out as fast as I could but it still melted some foam... second set came today, I happily put together my plane once again to find out that the esc spins the motor for a split second and then beeps to reset. ughhhhhh, no flying for over a week already, crazy! I need to put together more planes fully setup, this is depressing!

oh, i actually also replaced the motor connectors on my castle creations phoenix 25 (older, orange sticker) and the only way to get this motor to spin is to push the prop while throttling up, cut my finger dangit!!! but the older ones have problems with outrunners...

and i barely ever used full throttle, only once in a while when floating really low to the ground at the lowest possible throttle to keep her level and then pull up to do a loop and continue.

I've had good luck flying the Stryker-Lite on a 24g 1300Kv BlueWonder, with the HobbyKing 12a ESC, 8x6 GWS prop and a 910mah 3 cell.
I run this same set-up on a couple dozen planes.

It would be cool to print out a template of the fins to cut out the depron.

Anyone know of a decent picture? Maybe one with a tape measure next to it for scale?

Holy crap i read the entire F-27Q thread. Sucks the fuselage is 80 bucks and covered in heavy plastic stuff.

I know Butch or someone will be making a light version of it eventually.

Not sure why it says i joined in 07...im new to RC. In the past when they discontinue a plane can you still find parts years later? Or you fellas stocking up on fuselages?

I have two in the shop, ought to buy several more.

Whats lighter and/or stronger balsa wood or depron elevons?

Have you steven or anyone toyed around with notching in the motor mount VS laying it on top? I read you just lay on top. But have you ever tried notching to feel if plane flies different?

How much deflection should the elevons have? Trying to determine how large of angle to cut into elevon.

Also i noticed one guy used packaging tape on the leading edge of the wing.

Any thoughts on that?
