Frysky TFR8SB massive drop outs in urban area

Hi!

I am using a original Futaba Receiver for my Multirotor and i have full range with long antennas (3km) On the same multirotor
I use the same long antennas for my Gimbal Receiver Frysky TFR8SB and also have same range when doing a range test in clear country.

If i fly in more urban areas i had massive drop outs (failsafe) from the Frysky Reiceiver while Futaba reiceiver is just working fine.
Failsafe kicks in whithin a Distance of under 50Meter in repeatable flying spots.

Doing another Range Tests in Clear Area Range is good again.
Is there a quality problem with the Frysky Reiceiver?

Are you using a 14SG and if so was it updated to rev. 5? If so it introduced LBT which makes the FrSky FASST compatible receivers no longer fully compatible. This is exacerbated when the 2.4GHz noise floor is raised as in urban areas with many 2.4GHz operating.

You may want to check out the updates to the first post of this thread if you are using a 14SG.

As Ivan says, try updating your RX firmware, this sounds like the EU LBT issue...

PS - It's FrSky, not Frysky!

Is this FF-10 (10C in most other places) brand new, that was purchased after January 15, 2015 or older? New transmitters must follow the new rules requiring LBT. The 10CG (FF-10) is not upgradable, the 14SG (and not spelled the other way around) is.

Then you have a bad FrSky receiver.

Must be a problem between Futaba FF10 (buyed 3 years ago) and FrSky Receiver. In my opinion its a faulty Receiver as you said and not a LBT Problem.

For Future i will use Futaba T14SG with Version 5 and R7008SB 2.4 GHz FASSTest Receiver for Multirotor Control

And FF-10 with Fasst Reiciver R6308SBT

Hope for no more Dropouts.

Simple test - bind the FrSky RX to the 14SG and test to see if you have similar issues. If you do, it is 99.99% certain to be an RX issue.

Hi i also did this!

I had the same Dropout between T14SG and FRsky Receiver while i had no problems between FF-10 and Futaba Receiver.

But its very hard to test because its mostly in urban areas in special positions.

These RXs have a great rep overall - several of my mates swear by them - so it sounds like you have a faulty unit. Return it to your supplier for a swap-out.

It may be a defective unit, but again not to take risks, even if they give me two, as a gift, rather than buy a Futaba not in doubt for $ 20 less
