Hi Guys,

I'm re-covering my wing and I have a question. Do any of you know a good method for removing all the bits of monocote that remain stubbornly attached to the foam? (See pic). Upon inspection I found the spar system broken in 6 (six!) places. It's kind of cool actually: wherever the carbon spar is broke, the area is covered in carbon dust, like it's bleeding. Poor wing.

Any thoughts on the covering? (see photos)

Just pick pick pick.

I wouldn't try to dig the spars out, just lay in some new ones.
Keep reminding yourself that its a combat wing, "It aint posed to be purrty."

Duck tape! Lay over the bits rub hard and then pull fast. Leave a pull tab.
It may take foam with it!

Rain!!?

It's raining here in upland. I was hoping to test my re-done wing.

I just re-covered my wing with newstuff+monocote. That was a learning experience. It turned in a very strong brick. I also buried the servo pushrods after getting them repeatedly scraped off the top of the wing (even with the "servo-savers"). I added a charge/on/off jack and broke out the spektrum 'bind' plug from the RX so that I don't have to dig out the the RX if I need to re-bind.
