Sorry just haven't gotten around to it, hopefully next week. Had a ESC failure today and managed to land, just badly. snapped off the nose. Nothing a bit of CA can't fix.
Just gotta sort the ESC now.
Going to try an Hefei 120 ESC

Ouch.....that's 1 reason I'm considering a spar along the fuse.

well, the nose without any reinforcements is good in a nose crash as it takes up the energy, otherwise that energy will spread across the plane, make crack up the wings.... So I dont know if to much reinforcement in nose is a godd thing..

Yep it's definately a 6 of 1, half a dozen of the other. You make a choice......neither of which are the right one usually

have about 30 launches on the new launcher. the launch mechanism is Rube Goldberg (actually not up to his standards) but, even though its a kludge, it hasn't failed yet!

The video shows the launch process, the release tube is simply held in place w/2 zip ties and the U bolt raises up to lift the ring. The launch in the video is the flyer's first FJU launch with a heavy battery. The CG was forward so the plane didn't climb as steeply as normal but was acceptable. Left one of his passes in for grins...

Using about 40' of bungee (two 20' lengths) and 10' of cord. Got the bungee at harbor freight for $10/pack.

ciao,
Mike

Just about exactly. Although I don't use a hook, simple a straight piece of wire installed at an angle. Will make a real towhook like your picture and try it next time.

hello guys,
i would like to build a KISS bunhee for my FJU.
i got the HK 8mm bungee cord:
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=10609

and i see the hook position clearly in this thread - thanks

how do you suggest setting up the cord though?
doubling it up as mentioned here before?
use a piece of wire at the end? how long? what is this for anyway?

thanks for the tips.

My launcher. Zoom Zoom

Crashawk and I used the Blue tubing from HobbyKing doubled over with a ring, and a short cord to the plane hook. 10 steps and off she goes.
