This is a thread to post and view pictures of kit or scratch built rockets. I'll start with some pics from a club launch. The first pic is of my Screamin' Mimi on a D. The second is an array of rockets. The Screamin' Mimi on Blue pad 4 is mine, as well as the Outlander on Red pad 4.

Hey speaking of the screaming mimi, did you ever get the whistles to work? I was hoping for really loud fireworks like sound but could barely hear them! I was thinking of putting inverted nosecones in the tubes above the whistles to force more air in. I also have a screaming Super Big Bertha that was shortened as much as possible and has 8 party store whistles around it... Even on F39, barely a whistle. I see a company makes air whistles for RC and might try a couple on an Aerotech rocket.

I've only heard it whistle on a video I took of it.

Was that the latest Saturn V from Estes? How was the build? I got one (had to have one, eyeballing it in the catalogs since I was a kid) but I've been too chicken to build it... I just don't know if I'll have the patience to stick it out..??

The Saturn V took some time to build. the ABS parts fit pretty good, but be careful when triming. I did change the ABS fins for homemade balsa ones, on the first flight the chutes didn't open completely and broke the ABS fins. It only goes about 100 feet or so with the stock motors, but it looks very cool. I will try to post pics soon.

Well I'm new to R/C groups but have been a long time R/C pilot. I am very active in the profile brotherhood flying all sorts of airplanes. I also fly R/C Helis. My first love is profile planes...my second love is rockets. I am cert level 1 and belong to the WOOSH club in Southeastern Wi. I found this area by accident and look forward to posting here. I just thought I would share some pics of my first custom rocket. Running on a 3 engine cluster. Engines run are 3 E9-6's pushing the altitude to about 2500 ft....Rock Sim puts it slightly higher. The first 5 launches have been uneventful and excellent to hear...so here are the pics. I am posting one with my son who's first love is rockets. This will show the aft end of the rocket which will entail the 3 engine cluster.

Again I look forward to sharing pictures with you. Some of you I may have met at Midwest power last year.

Gotta go get rockets ready for our WOOSH launch at BONG tomorrow.
