I've been looking for servo's to build a camera device and have a question about dimensions. I understand it's not a question about RC-related stuff as such, but I thought you guys might know.
Why are there no data sheet's for servo's and where there are drawings, they don't include all the dimensions? For example, the distance from the edge of the servo to the axel or spindle (not sure what the term is) would be really useful and seems a critical one.
Are there standards dimensions for micro servo's in order you can easily swap them over?

Welcome to the forum.
Fairly good dimensional data should be available if you find the right site. Here is the data for the HXT900 on HobbyKing:
The product configuration table provides a thorough breakdown.
