Skywing's Flying-anywhere-size (32-in) Planes

Hi guys,

Skywing is making a series of 32-in 8mm EPP profilers. Their AUWs are about 200 grams (7 ounces). You can fly them indoor or outdoor. Bring some charged packs with you, and you can have a couple of flights during a lunch break.

Currently, there are 3 models available: Edge-540T, Slick, Yak-55, each with 2 color schemes. They come with quality hardware and genuine CF rods and strips.

(Update 1: find build instructions in post #18 http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showp...4&postcount=18)
(Update 2: PDF English manual added.)

Cheers,

feda

I think this little motor will be sweet with 8x4 on a Plush 10A and xgd-9 Servo's
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...00kv_21g_.html
I'd like a nice 5g digital but at $12 a pop I'm kinda put off, want to try keep it relatively cheap,as shipping adds another $22 on the airframe. Those xgd-9's are $4 and I don't think 12g will make it fly bad at all
Well I'm gonna g with that setup on 460maH 2s nanotech
What you all think?

Hi guys,

I plan to make the planes available on usa.wattaplane.com. The price should be under $40.

The motor should be a 2204 or 2205. KV should be around 1800. With a 8043 prop and a 2-cell pack, the system should be able to deliver about 400 grams of thrust. The peak current should be just under 10A. So a 10A speed control should be good for the plane.

If the plane is anything like my Piaget (a profiler made of thinner EPP sheets), it should be very durable. So I wonder if using metal gear servos is a good idea. In this way, you will save the trouble of swapping out stripped servos and really have an "indestructible" plane. For good control authority, I am thinking of using 5-gram servos at minimum for the tail and a 10-gram servo for the aileron.

Cheers,

feda

Hi chop stiX,

The motor looks perfect to me except the way it's going to be mounted with 3 screws. Do you have an easy solution?

Regards,

feda

I have found the best servos for this size fomy to be two HS-45 servos for the tail and one HS-65HB for the ailerons.

Hi Max.
What you think og using the xgd-9 servo's?
I will make a plan with the motor mount and cut a 3mm ply that's round which I'll epoxy to the front.
Will see what I'm going to do
