Certainly we are all but forgotten. If I was inactive here for nearly 8 months, well, I must be taking a dirt nap ;-)

Old Bristle Whacko is alive and well. Talked to him for about half an hour this afternoon and he is just now getting over his knee injury from over a year ago. We had a Loooooong conversation about where to locate the bumper board along the side of the 63 and after that we ran the gauntlet of politics until my dinner started to burn and we had to hang up. OBW is working on the Blivet and will have some progress to report soon. I hope.
This coming April 29th will be the fourth anniversary of the start of this model. It therefore qualifies as the longest running build of a 63 on record. Hell the real ones didn't take a year to build. However OBW is very particular with details and everything has to be just right. I just hope he lives long enough to finish the darn thing. Pete.

Glad to hear that both The Outstanding Master Builder and his creation have surmounted some tough times. Look forward to future reports.

Ya he's doing ok now. You know he fell on ice over a year ago injuring his left knee and by walking more on the right leg he reinjured the right knee too. Then the left knee got better but the right one didn't and that slowed him down a lot. He say's the right one is now finally feeling better so he's doing what he can on the Blivet at a slow pace. Mean time he hasn't lost his sense of humor such that it is and continues to throw zingers at appropriate times. Some things will never change. Ha! ☺

Great to have news about him. He is very talented and he says just what he thinks. He is quite the character. He does not suffer fools gladly.

HO Guage Railroad Track to Portholes

I made brass portholes from HO guage model RR track stock forming them into the proper shape and soldering the ends. Painted white to match the hull, glued clear acetate into them with RC 56 canopy glue. (As I recall !)

Fill the opening with clear silicone caulk to seal out water and off you go. Peter the Great SSS

Now that is a cool idea for the old Sterling portholes.
