I take a small screw and screw it in to that point. Then solder into the top of the screw.

The motors cost about six or seven bucks. Hardly worth the effort to rescue a broken one, eh?

I ordered a pair after I was unable to revive the motor. 10 minutes of soldering is not a big deal to me. When possible, I try to repair instead of immediately replacing. It doesn't hurt, & when successful it is faster and cheaper than a replacement.

The V929 that I received 4th July 2014 timeframe from xheli, works with DEVO 7E with the circuit board taken out of a V911 controller. I assume it is Flysky, haven't tried my Turnigy 9x controller (hardly ever used just seems too big). But Devoe 7E is awesome, makes significant difference for V929. I can only get it to bind by connecting battery first then powering on Devo7E, using the re-init button within the menu does not bind, like it does for other quads/helis.

I can't seem to find those better props that everyone is talking about though, are they no longer available? Thinking about getting some more batteries and parallel charge cable, maybe a set of motors from micro-motor warehouse. Are those motors significantly better like they claim?

This has been discussed at some length elsewhere in this thread and in the radio subforum.

No experience with devo7 or the micro motor warehouse, but you can still find the 5443 props at hobbyking. It really blew my mind how well they perform. You will need to buy a number 22 drill bit to enlarge the hole so they will fit the newer v929 shafts. Just tighten the bit into the drill and use your hand to rotate the prop onto it. don't power up the drill.

HobbyKing carries the EP5443 now. And I think they may be the cheapest source.

6pcs orange - $2.38

6pcs grey - $2.38

I don't think HobbyKing sells the black ones. I can't find them on Banggood anymore either. There's a vendor on Amazon selling the black ones at some crazy prices.

Use permanent pen on the grey (very light grey) ones to make them whatever color you need. I have made orange, red, green, even black when needed.

I received those 5443 props fairly quickly. No problem putting them on. I didn't have to drill them out, does that mean I received an older version V929 from xheli about a month ago? Is that good or bad, what other differences besides the shaft diameter? Will spares be harder to get with old version? Is Blade Mqx a direct cross on spares to old version V929?

Yes, you have the older version with the 3mm prop shaft if the GWS props were a direct fit. The older version parts are a direct fit for the blade mqx. The newer version, has a larger 4mm prop shaft which also means different sized bearings and plastic gear. (probably banggood is using parts from the v959 & v222) There are no performance advantages. The only downside is finding replacement parts because not all vendors specify the sizes of their parts. (that applies to both versions)

Both of my V929's are two years old. They both still fly and only thing done was change a few props. Used some MQX white blades. Hooked up to T9X they can rock n roll pretty good. Ahh the good ole days when WL toys worked fine with T9X. Now WL Toys has gone nutz with different protocols.
