So im looking to get a faster motor then my stock one that came with my miss elam. I started a thread a few days ago on here and you guys said that this is the best motor for my boat

However, i dont see a water cooler on the engine. My old one did. What do i do, my current set up is

AquaCraft 60 amp brushless esc lipo ready

Spectrum 2.4 GHz DSM SR200 sport surface receiver

Waterproof traxxas survo

& my controller DX2E DSM radio system.

The boat runs off two 2s lipo batteries. Hobby town did my new electronic swap just to let you know.
Does everything seem okay for this motor? I dont want to buy the wrong thing. Also what do i do about the cooling system? Thanks.

Good motor, you do need to add a cooling jacket to the motor. Pretty much any cooling jacket of 36mm should be fine.

That is a good motor, but I would use this one instead:

It has more torque that the 2030 motor and will be easier on the ESC. We run the 2030 motor in lighter hydros and often pull 80-90 amps average. The 1800 motor will spin larger props a bit slower, a better solution for the ME. Another advantage is that the 1800 is less likely to burn up if you prop too big or run for too long. Both motors are capable of similar speeds, just with different props.

Hey i have a RED/BLUE?YELLOW hook up in my boat. That plugs into the motor. That motor has a black one instead of blue. What do i do?

Connect any of the 3 wires on the controller to the motor connectors...it doesn't matter which ones...if the motor runs backwards, change any two.

Yup, higher rpm's and smaller props are the way to go in hydros...less prop walk.

Lots of winning racers will disagree with your over-generalized statement, but if it works for you that's great. However, a relatively new non-racer will have less trouble with the lower Kv motor - and his speeds will be within a couple mph of the 2030 motor. The higher the Kv the easier it is for inexperienced boaters to burn up their motor/ESC. A tip for you - what's good for you just might not be the best for someone else. That's a life lesson for you.

Either...time for you to decide what to do.

The 2030kv motor will be a great option, and not too high of a kv.

You need to be cautious with the 2030kv and only a 60 amp ESC, start with a small prop.

Remember, this is the standard set up on the AQ UL-1 and been running for several years now..with a good lifter prop its becomes a 50 Mph boat.

Nothing wrong with the 1800 kv motor either though. The original Miss Elam came with a 1500 kv motor.

I'd strongly consider the 1800kv...............the 2030kv is gonna tend to cavitate with the smaller prop you would be using compared to n 1800kv prop.

My suggestion would be an x637 for the 2030kv and an x640 for the 1800.
