Freewing 80mm Mirage 2000C

Hi everyone, this will serve as the official thread for the upcoming Freewing 80mm Mirage 2000C.

Additional information will be posted as it becomes available. I have flown an evaluation model extensively and certain aspects are being tweaked prior to an official release date being published.

Please note these three important items before asking:

1) THE RELEASE DATE HAS NOT BEEN FINALIZED

2) THE FINAL COLOR SCHEME WILL BE A SCALE CAMO SCHEME. IT WILL NOT BE THE TEST MODEL'S RED/BLACK SCHEME

3) CERTAIN DETAILS SUCH AS TAILCONE AND PILOT ARE NOT CURRENTLY PLANNED FOR THE FINAL PRODUCTION MODEL

Hi CorsairNut, thank you for your purchase of the F2G, I know you'll enjoy it. I have updated this thread with pictures, a bit better than "blurry". Perhaps a blurry *video* will be posted shortly. Stay tuned...

I'd much rather see the TAN Desert Camo than the gray on the Mirage 2000C

Great another plane done over and over!

As if the FlyFly Mirage, okmodels/Tahmazo, LX models, or little 50mm jpower wasn't enough.. Or at least bring back something that is outta production..

Seems I get a few calls a day for a larger f16 like the old starmax 90mm nothing left in foam that big, Or maybe a larger Blackbird twin 80 would be sweet, the little LX 64mm was to small and the nose was about 4 inches to short going by scale.. Heck a 80mm F5.. that was the best flying jet in 70mm with the worst set of retracts.. but, freewings retracts are a lot better than old starmax's.

2 elevons on each sides like the real one would have been nice. Even more so when considering that there are only 4 servos installed compared to the 8 servos of the f-86.....

Helibase: Two servos on each side would indeed be more scale, but are unnecessary at this size for the added weight and complexity of mixing flaps/reflex. Having flown the model over 80 times I can tell you definitively that it flies superbly as is, throughout the entire throttle range with no need for flaps on approach (or low/slow presentation passes). Either nose up with power on, or flat with power off.

Latinajet: I see taz101 addressed Freewing'd 90mm F-16, check it out. And don't worry, this Mirage isn't the only jet Freewing is making. Also, I would say that the Flyfly Mirage 2000-B was a two seater, in a different size, and severely lacking in several scale aspects. For one, the fuselage shape wasn't even close to accurate. It is a good older model, but again, entirely different from Freewing's 80mm Mirage 2000-C on every substantive level than it looking like a Mirage. The Jpower and OKmodels Mirages were much smaller than Freewing's Mirage, and lack basic features for a good sized jet like retracts/struts and a powerful 6s power system, both of which make Freewing's Mirage stand out from the crowd for customers who prefer this iconic jet in a larger size than a fixed gear parkflyer.

For the record, I owned the Jpower, Graupner, and three Flyfly Mirages, so I am confident I can make a fair comparison. The Freewing wins in stock performance, availability, size, features, manufacturer support and parts, and cost/value.

freewing is doing the right thing :-)
those mirages from the past are ok ...
but we need a good mirage 2000 .

in my field everybody flies f-16, f-18, f-86 , t-33, t-45 ... :-)
great, but that make me sick and bored... with redundancy .....
we need something diffrerent to make life better :-)

thanks freewing.
