FFBLG: Low Cost, Simple Brushless Gimbal for Multirotors

Here is a gimbal that I have been developing for a few months now-- called the FFBLG or Forward Facing Brushless Gimbal.
Check them out on my website http://www.klinkeraerospace.com

-Designed to be mounted on front of QAV, TBS Disco, or any existing multirotor.
-Integrated vibration isolation.
-3D Printed in ABS plastic (different colors are available).
-Lighter than aluminum.
-Basic, simple design that is easy to install.

It is currently available for the GoPro Hero 1, 2, 3, Sony ActionCam, and the Mobius Action Camera

Forward Facing Brushless Gimbal on S800 (1 min 19 sec)

Klinker Aerospace Brushless Gimbal (2 min 9 sec)

A build video is available on the website.

This is the official thread to talk about the gimbal, ask questions, and post pictures and videos. Let me know what you think--

The gimbal can be purchased from my website at www.klinkeraerospace.com

I won't officially endorse any place to buy these or a specific component, but if you are unsure which motors/control board to use and would like a place to start, I recommend:

Brushless Gimbal Motor

Here is the Google Doc with different controller settings.

Very cool any chance of making one with a front plate that would use the stock lens cover or a full case. It would offer a little more protection for a $300 camera.

It works with a LayerLens. The stock case is just too heavy IMO.

Oh I bet the stock case would to heavy. I was just thinking the stock lens from the Case. This way a replacement is only a camera store away.

Will you provide a parts list of you Gimbal build, motors & BLG controller?

How much did you have to move the battery back to keep the CG in line?

I wonder what motors would handle the Hero3 Black with a light weight 3D printed case? Camera in case come in at 89g. Case alone is 14g, camera 75g.

With my quad I moved it back an inch or so. Can someone with a QAV 4/500 comment on this?

I think the 2212 motors would handle the hero3 with a case. My hero3 black +case is 177g, while the camera alone is 75g.

I am working on integrating a lens protector. In the mean time, the layerlens works great
