Hi guys,

after a while away from the sunracer after a failed maiden, i re-maidened it today. flys well except i am having to provide massive amounts of up elevator and im maxed out on my trim setting. With full throttle it will fly straight as an arrow (with some sub trim), however as soon as i glide it will want to drop like a rock. I am having to continually pull up elevator with out the motor on.

I know its not a glider, but surley it can glide better than what its doing now. Is this normal?

I started with my CG at 45 and eventually moved it back to almost 50mm, still had the nose dropping without any throttle.

I did notice the back of my wing does not sit flush against the back part of the fueselage opening (where the back screw goes in). Elevator seems to be fixed in place fine, cant see anything wrong there.

any tips or info would be greatly appreciated!

Your wing needs to sit flush, find out why it's not, maybe the wiring / all the stuff you have in there is the problem and stopping the wing seating properly..

I agree your wing needs to sit flush. It may be acting like on big spoileron thus slowing it down and dropping the nose. Just a theory but get that wing flush then fly but an see what happens.

Turns out the nut wasn't sitting flush against the top of the back end of the fuselage opening , took it out and epoxied it in nice and flush. Wing seems to fit much better now. Will test fly next week hopefully.

greeting everyone . can someone help me out here .
I have a HET1w30 and want to run it on a 2s battery can someone here tell me what prop amp draw ,watts and more or less speeds I will be looking at . I want to run it in a rifle 1m .there isn't any info over there

hi guys, i have my eye on the sunracer V4 and i have a supplier of HET motors near by,
so am wondering what HET motor will get me to 300kmh or around 190mph

i am looking at the 2w20 on 4s but i am worried about heat issues as its only rated for 60Amps and i would imagine it will need to be pushed past 80 amp to achieve my speeds.

has anyone tried the 1w40 on 4s? it is a 3300kv motor weighing at 180g

any help will be much appreciated

the 1w40 will be over 100amps on 4s with a 4.7 prop, So if you esc and lipos can handle it, go for it

It will probably take you to 190mph.

cheers think i will go towards that motor but im just worried about that extra weight, 180grams is 35grams more than the recomended 1112/2D neu at 145g (on espirit model)

wonder what difference to launching and landing that will make

I wouldn't think it'd balance, my V2 had a little ol' 16-15-3 on 3s 2200 and I don't remember much room to move that battery back. 35g in small models can be a lot. Lead in the tail would work though. I could be wrong and it might balance out ....

feefo could be right, balance is another issue for sure, I was just meaning the extra weight itself will not be a problem, balanceissues is another thing

ahhhh right thanks guys

ok well i think ill have to get the plane and then try putting a 180g weight where the motor is and try balance it out with my lipo

but i have seen somewhere in this forum that someone said the v4 manual says to use the neu 1112/2d and a 4s 2600 for max performance

ill be using a lighter 2200 4s hmmm

A lighter lipo is not always going to help, you might need more weight aft of the CoG to help counter balance the heavier motor.

ah right true true, oh and will run two 2s 2200 packs in series so im a little bit more flexble
looks like i need to buy this sucker and start CoG testing
