Very nice Jonathan! I recognized that landing style...I executed the same style on Saturday and nicked my Xoar on a 60"...hope all is well with your beautiful new Edge- that looks spectacular.

Definitely get RF6. Since switching to it from Phoenix I've never looked back.

he... just tested my wattmeter... results are interesting...
my 42" puts out around 480w on 42A
48"msx around 470w at 48A
57" sc as strangely as it sounds, puts out only around 900-950w at 60A


but sure as hell, my little slick, is like rocket on steroids lol!

Is excited, I am picking up a 57 extra rtf this week and cannot wait to get it in the air.

Those numbers are strang. Your slick pulls less amps but puts out more watts? Unless you mean 570w for the mxs?

Higher Cell count can do that... Volts X Amps = Watts

well, they both are at the same cell count... only my slick has old batteries but msx new ones...


since i got my wattmeter only today, i got a bit expermentii! decided to try my 800kv hacker on 5S and 6S since 4s it can take even 13x6, i put on 12x5.... and here is approximate results... not considering voltage sag or something like that...

3s 48A 480W 14x7 propeller
5s 42A and nearly 800w
6s(on crappy batts with BIG voltage sag) around 36-38A and i would say around or even over 900w

on 6s i guess my batteries gave voltage drop over lvc so my esc was cutting out around 70-80% throttle, but if on 5s 100% throttle was nearly 800w, than 6s 70%throttle was the same 770-800w

Watt meters are your friend but voltage sag is not . Its nice to be able to see your changes on the meter make improvements. Watts are no good if there is no efficiency.

yeah, i noticed... btw voltage sag comes from watts pulled? because amps get lower on 6s but voltage bigger, so only variable left is amps.... but my guess is that 48" plane on 6s would be similar to strapping omega 130 on 4s to a uberlight 42" build... would be really fun to try!

Normally you will see voltage sag from too much prop, but the Amps go up, pulling more from a lipo then in can provide <C Rating>, bad solder joint can cause issues, or the ESC is a choke point being aged or lower quality. If the ESC is not able to handle High pole count motors <hacker> you can see some strangness as well.

What motor and speed control are you running the 42" slick on? I can't wait for these to be back in stock I need spare. At first I was not a fan of the 42" slick but its become my favorite hands down. Part of that was my big hands breaking off the balsa on the top of the fuse on battery changes etc.

its definetely not a light build, rtf with gens ace 1550 its 39oz... but hacker a30-16m with ice50(that big meaty green heat sink one)...i could easily loose like 2-3oz by going to omega 72, ice lite esc, shortening motor wires... but this setup has so far prooven bulletproof to me... can run WOT all day with no concerns...
