2.4 gig radio glitch

I was at our field today my friend and I were flying a Sig Senorita and an Eratix.After two to three good flights, I took off with the Sig and appprox. 20 seconds into the flight the plane shut on ,no throttle or controls. I pulled the throttle back to off and powered back up and was able to land. My friend took off and at approx the same spot his did the same thing with plane ending results. After gathering up the pieces I put a new battery in the Sig and took off at about the same spot I had a compete engine and controls failure. It was as if the reciever completely shut off. I checked the batt and it showed 4.07 on all cells. Has anyone heard of interferance on 2.4 GHZ. I can't figure out what would cause two planes to have the same problem within 15 mins of each other with trash can results. If anyone has heard of this please let me know, Thanks, Jim

What is the radio? Spektrum will not do that, or Futaba or JR.

The $30 systems I would worry about. Single rcvr. No diversity.

Both tx and rec. are spectrum dx6 and 6110 rec.

Well, this is spektrum DSM2, not DSMX and the spektrum selects two channels that are free *at the moment* and then sticks with it. So there's a potential that a change in the RF environment causes a failsafe.
