64mm Change Sun 12 blade

Another member stumbled across this. found here.

Was just wondering if any others have gotten this and done any testing.

May be a great alternative to the heavy dps units.

I'll bet, motors that once worked in the HET and mini-pro 70mm fans, will work in this. Less load than the CS 10 70mm.

Ok guys I have personally put this fan that I first purchased on Banggood.com was fan and motor they at that time had a 3s and a 4s I'll post some videos of my F-18 with this fan in it the 3 cell is in a concept X and flies nice not a speed Demon but the sound is intoxicating the thrust numbers were 3s 540g at 29 amps and the 4s was 720g at 32 amps these thrust numbers were done on a test stand with the front ring on the fan it's amazing the difference w/ and wo the fan inlet ring now the numbers do drop in the frame but it makes up for it in the air

By the way if you go to banggood.com I posted on how to finish the balancing. And yes they needed balancing I'll try to get that post and bring it here it's really easy if you know the principle the iphone has a vibration app that I down loaded to verify my balancing I always balance my fans to one cell higher than where I run it at for durability

Ok I purchased 4 of these and they are an excellent fan to have in jet the sound is incredible having said that I had to finish balancing it even thought they come pre balanced I had to complete the balancing myself on each and every fan I purchased the best way to know if it's not completely balanced is to first draw a line from one blade to the center of the center cap mounting screw this way you know the position of the cap now remove the cap and stick a 3/16 strip of 1/2 in wide electrical tape to the inside of the cap exactly 180 degrees to the small dab of epoxy weight the manufacture put in there to balance the fan originally and place the cap back on to the fan in original position and run it up and if it sounds better and feels better ( less vibration) if it does then the balancing process has been improved so now loosen the cap just enough to be able to rotate the center cap one way or the other an 1/8 of an inch from the line you originally drew and tighten and retest you will know when the fan has found its happy place a balanced fan is a happy fan not to mention the motor will last longer repeat the process till it's vibration free now if adding the tape makes it worst then move the tape over the epoxy if it's better you'll need to ad a bit more epoxy to theirs please sand the epoxy in the cap before adding a bit more once dry retest the balance till your satisfied I balance all my fans to 1 cell higher than where I run them don't run the 4s fan too long on 5 s or you could burn out the motor I generally spool it up to full speed and back to off 2-4 seconds enough to get a reading on my iphone app

There's an iphone App that will help u determine if the balance is better or not it's called VR Mobile once u open the app use the accelerometer it's very flexible I rubber band the iphone against the outside of the fan before I spool it up and read the vibration numbers

64mm works really well with the CS12 rotor, I started cutting them down soon as the 70mm came out. Nice to see they have done an actual 64mm rotor now, will save me a lot of time! What's the actual inside diameter of the housing?
