So im a total newbe and i have only flown fp helis but i was just thinking bout cp and i was curious how do u control the pitch on these helis like could you throttle way up then slowly increase the pitch to get lift or is the cp attached to the same control as the throttle or what control do you use to reverse the pitch so you can hover upside down just really curious as i have never seen anyone fly a cp heli could someone please clarify for me

The throttle lever does 2 different things in a CP heli.

In regular mode it not only does raise the RPM but it also adds Positive Pitch.

In Idle Up the RPM automatically goes to a set value and now the throttle only controsl the Pitch. You usually have Zero Pitch at center stick and Positive is up and Negative is down.

In a nut shell this is how it works but is still more complex than this.

You can seletct Idle Up while on the ground with the Throttle Hold "on".
Center the stick and turn "off" Throttle Hold and heli will spin up.
If your Pitch Curves are set correctly the heli will not lift off but will stay on ground.

You can switch to Idle Up also while hovering or flying.
If your heli is set up to hover at Center stick in Normal mode and you switch to Idle Up, assuming your Pitch Curves are the same the heli will not move but you will hear a rapid increase of RPM.

The basic's in FP and CP are as follows

FP = the faster the blades turn the higher you go

CP = throw the above out the window.CP control is completly different
As you thottle up yes the motor goes faster, but where CP is invalved is as you thottle up the pitch of the blades( angles of the blades) change.The angle of the blades is what gives u the lift not so much the motor.The more the blades angle up the higher and faster you go.When it comes to CP the base line is at no throttle the blades should be at ether -10 degree pitch or -11 degree pitch.The tip of the blades are faseing down as far as they go. +10 degree or +11 degree the blades will point upwards.
with that said the controls are very twitchy to compare to FP

I just wasnt sure what stick on the tx controlled the pitch

yes the left stick controls the collective pitch of the blades
it is also mixed with the throttle with a throttle curve
different curves can be set to different flight modes so that you can fly inverted with - pitch

there are 3 main ways to deal with the throttle idle up issue
1. use a V curve
2. use flat line
3. use a governor
