The DOSD can be as tame as you want it. or as advance as you want it with the way points capability's and such. I havent even had mine in the air yet. Being winter here, its not the greatest. But the worst of it is over, and i love flying on cool sunny winter days where you can actually get a sun tan.;0) Heres a little video i made awhile ago. its pretty basic. One of the main things is to make sure you power it correctly. wither with the current sensor or a 3s with a good connector. As you can tell, when i was talking about the schematics of the wiring harness i was a bit confused myself. lol But now its pretty straight forward. I think i posted a while back. basically you need your signal from the cam and the vtx, they go in the otter pins of the servo lead and the mid is neg. If you want audio, you well either have to use jumpers, or a 4 pin connector. P.S I printed my manual off at work ;0)

I still have many questions. I continually see the cruise speed discussed when referring to RTH or waypoint flight but to my knowledge the DOSD does not control the throttle. If this is true what is the OSD doing with this setting? I assumed my ESC would be plugged into my DL Rx as it is right now effectively bypassing the OSD. One more thing, I don't see mention anywhere about connecting dual aileron servos to the OSD without using a Y. Can it be done? This thread is great but also so massive it becomes difficult to find information. |

On your DOSD, the first 5 sets of pins are for PPM and 4 servos/throttle.
Neg being on the outter side. You can have everything plugged into your DL RX also. But if you want any AP functions, you well need the servos and Throttle(if you want to use the dosd's throttle management) plugged into your OSD. The first thing i did was hook it up to the PC and get on PC Commander and browsed over it all.

DOSD will fly your plane with just GPS and a PPM stream from your RC receiver. YOu don't need a current sensor if you don't want it. If you only want to measure one voltage on screen you don't need GPS! FY-Dos will probably not pass all the data through a translator to DOSD, Chris1seto may be able to update us on that. |

For AHI you'd need the Xlator and a FY-30. They'll connect to the DOSD I2C port. There's other IMU's that will work too, but the FY-30 seems the most rebust and is less expensive than the other choices. Don't plan on a Mag sensor...there's only one that will work and it runs ~$150 and really isn't needed anyway.

Hey guys. Something odd about my skywalker with dragonosd.
Im using the dragonosd with an fy20 and dragonlink. Usually when im in the menu i should not have any control of the servos. For some reason in the menu i still have control. For instance when i toggle between menus the servos move. I am unable to verify the servo direction test when it is doing this. Any tips? |
