Recently I asked RCT if they could put together and sell 3-color silicone wire packages of 3m of each color wire to enable those of us who wish to make our own brushless motor-esc extension harnesses, (they previously only sold 2-wire black/red 1m of each packages; I always needed that third wire!!). Today I got this PM from Nina:
"Dear Sonny1, Thanks for your information, please see this: http://www.rctimer.com/index.php?gOo...0&productname= Nina" Hopefully others will find this item to be as welcome and useful as I will, I'll be placing an order soon. Thank you Nina and RCT for listening and responding to your customers, I appreciate it; good show! Sonny |

The Calculator at the bottom of the first link is super. Keep your voltage drop to 2 percent and you are in good shape. Don't forget to add the voltage drop of the connectors. If you are running packs in series you will have losses in two or three connectors. The Capacity chart on the second link is a great rule of thumb for a quick check for short RC battery runs. |

You are very welcome but as Bombay posted those links will give much better detail information and the formula too. I for one don't want to destroy a plane due to my bad planning and/or incorrect wire gage. Thanks for the links Bombay.![]() John |

Dont see why not. When I built my first Polaris foamie, I needed to add 18" of wire from the esc to the motor and I used 16g auto wire (due to lack of room for a bigger wire) from Menards and was pulling more amps than that all the time. 2 years later, Plane is still flying great and nothing even gets warm.
