I have been checking my measures against your, so far pretty close. For the inside dia, you got 78.80, My figures came up with 79.375. It was just guess work, but close!.

mine have got wings and elevator now.

I have compensated a little for extra surface by giving it a little more area at the slim point.
I just have to figure out to make PDF files of the duct-formers.

claus, that looks fantastic!! Just to double check, the 1463mm, is the measure from lower intake lip to end of bottom of thrust tube exit.

I will be the first kid on the block with this style intake!!

no it is from the very nose of the plane and to the tail at the end .. the little s-formed end.

Mine measures from same points as you used--61.25" or 1555.75mm. Total length of fuse only.
Total length of intake to thrust tube exit would be 1463mm.

The difference was 6 %
But the same duct fits ok

claus Nicely done! Amazing work. I re-checked my measurements, and had to re-scale the fuse, so the area where I have the L.E and T.E of wing is off a bit.

This pic is to give you a better sense of the length of intake to fan location.
Based on the PDF we both used, your cad/drawing is a perfect reproduction, where my fuse, although very close , is not. To this point the only minor issue I will have is in the nose gear area. You have 34.03 mm from fuse bottom to intake, where from fuse bottom to clear retract, mine is 42mm. Once I assemble intake sections, I will have to modify that small section.

looks like you got a very nice build going on here....really makes me want to try a scale build of a harrier jump jet....looks like you have put alot of time and care into this buid cant wait to see this all painted.......

Thanks, Steve. Glad to see your back at your build.

Progress has come to a halt until I get the building fund back up there.
Still debating on which type of wing, built-up, or foam. Either will be glassed. But before that happens I need to get the main gear, struts, and wheels so I know all the right measurements for mountng retract units and gear door clearence. Lots of stuff to keep me plenty busy until then.

Having seen the two builds pekos is doing, and D_Fast's one, I should use the down time to learn how to use Sketch-Up!

Sadly, although I have made progress, it seems I will miss my target date of building an EDF before I hit the BIG 60. Even if I worked at the breakneck speed C/N has on his T-38, it won't be done by tomorrow!

hey man sketchup is cool and really dont take no time to learn.....well i mean well enough to do some modeling..its got a nice simple interface...and its got cool addons like sketchy phyisics wich will let ya do cool things like animate...

another program thats free is blender realy cool but the interface is kinda daunting alot to take in but with it you can render your models and they look as real as anything heck you can even make movies with it..

ive spent alot of time on youtube they got some great tuts on there that makes it easy but still alot to learn

While I was messing around with the hatch/canopy area got to thinking again about a pilot for this. For the Korean war era pilots there is not to much around, but I did come up with two that might work. Just thought I would run it by you guys to see what you thought. Both 1/7th scale.

I like those, where can you get them ?
