A couple of 130" Extra 330 SC's in Ohio:
Andrew and I have been extremely lucky enough to get our hands on two beta 3DHS 103" Extra 330 SC's airplanes and we are both very excited about getting these beauties in the air.
I will be using my 103" Extra this year to compete in the NC region IMAC events and Drew will be doing some serious hardcore throw downs with his I'm sure (Bonedoc calls this "durability testing"). ![]() The first thing you notice about these airplanes is absolutely how HUGE they are especially in the box. Ben has really done a fantastic job of ensuring these big bad boys arrive safely to your home. A lot of planes this size are shipped in plywood crates but Ben has come up with a truly awesome way of using cardboard and foam to keep these monsters safe. ![]() I hope you don't mind seeing some pictures of the airplanes as they are being built. Both Drew and I will be using DA-100's with canisters but the rest of the equipment will vary some between both planes (it's a JR/Futaba thing). I'm pretty stoked about getting the build going on these beauties and if you have any questions or would like to see some additional pictures along the way please let me know as I'd be glad to help out. A huge kudos needs to go out to Scott Stoops for the design of this airplane. I know that Scott and Ben have been working on this airplane for well over a year now and the end product really speaks volumes for what Scott had invisioned in this airplane. It's a real honor for me to have flown Scott's designs starting with the 47" SHP, 55" SHP, 87" SHP, and now the 103" Extra. The one thing I can tell you about Scott is that he doesn't give a plane an O.K. for production until he is completely satisfied with how it flies. That's why I'm really, really, really excited about the 103"s. You just know the plane is going to fly sooooooooo nice. Great job Scott and Ben!! So let the photo's begin!!! Tim BTW - WOW, I have a lot of smilies attached above. Can you tell I'm excited??? More pics. to come...........
