Phil or Jim,

Will anyone be making a list of vendors for 2013? I see 2012 on the website, but nothing for confirmed vendors for 2013.

I have not received a response from Empire Hobbies yet. Hopefully they will sponsor or be a vendor of the event like they were in 2012.

So, what's the deal with the two half hour blocks for heli flying? Is that the only time helis can be flown the entire day (i.e. a measly hour) or are those times "heli flying only" where the planes are grounded, but helis can be flown at all other "open flying" times when product demos, etc, aren't being done?

Helis can only fly during the provided heli time. Last year there was some really great heli flying.

I'm a heli pilot as well as a fixed wing pilot. The event seemed a good balance of each.

Helis are just not compatible with seven planes in the air to allow them to fly all the time. So, the event gives helis their own time to fly.

Here are some photos from the heli time last year.

Yet my crowded club field seems to manage it just fine every single flyable weekend (and weekdays). And, those aren't even "organized events".

I welcome you to come fly at the event, bring some helis and a few planes, it is a great time.

It it a complete moratorium on all helis except those two pitiful half hour periods or are there areas off to the side or something for the small stuff like mCPXs and 130Xs?

Unfortunately there is no "Off to the side". The field is packed for the sell out event. The parking area is packed, the vendor area is packed, and the pitts are packed. Electric nirvana.

Still gotta come home uphill and I just did the Sky Harbor haul twice in the last week. Hate that drive.

Just wanted to send out a thank you to all the companies that have already sent their sponsor related items for the event.

Your efforts are much appreciated!
