Help!
Ways to protect Hotliner when landing on Tarmac.

I have a graupner speed Hotliner which I have dressed with fiberglass tape on the bottom and wing tips to avoid damage.
It works fine...nd just peel off and replace every so often.
But is is dead weight and of course the CG has to be adjusted .
Any better ideas / Solutions/products?

Go to the local hobby store,or online, and get the clear tape that guys use on there rc race car chassis...it is light, and works like a champ.

I wouldn't call it light but the RC car chassis protector is the best stuff for asphalt runways.

I also read about thin wires that hang below fuse as skids

Thick tape as rc cars use seems to be best ideas so far
Wire will take harder landing and absorbe shock if hard landing

.

It depends on how heavy the plane is

3m makes tape that works as well
Motor bike tape also works well

Same as rc car tape, basically thick tape

Glue some titanium chunks on the fuse and wingtips, and "spark" some fear into the competition.

Just about all I ever land on is an asphault runway. Troy clued me in about the chassis protector tape over a decade ago. Never have worn through it in hundreds of flights.
