I like your Gear Guard. Maybe using Nylon screws it is possible to reduce weight.
Every gram is important.

Picture Update (Finished Tail)

How about picture updates too?

I don't have enough information for a video update. But,
I am happy to share a few images of the Yellow tail I just finished.
The edge carbon rods are inserted into pockets that were stitched. Then clear tape was used to secure the smaller carbon rods. The edge was also covered with clear tape to secure the arched carbon in place. The results are shown in the images.

It is a bit early yet.
My goal is to offer a good quality kit / ARF model at a reasonable price.
I figured I would just design and build my own. Then share it with anyone interested. Maybe you can tell from the progress so far. I am passionate about doing things the right way.
It takes time and testing to get it right. I won't rush the project to get it done.
Maybe you can also tell I am happy to share what I am doing.
To me it is more about supporting the hobby than making a dollar.
Live is good. (meaning you get to see this project as it comes together)
Enjoy

pinion wire for the gear would be a option if you cant find gears that size. Then it would have to be bored out but is a option. AS for the motor it took a bit of searching but hear is the motor http://www.ebay.com/itm/RC-Motor-Hel...item414222393b and bonus its in the USA hope this helps. As for it being 3800kv i cant see it being a issue i have ran as small as a 22mmdia 5000kv on a PH3 and as large as a turnigy e500 4000kv on a slow hawk and that was plenty if not a bit to powerful for it cheers Brian
