Gartt GT450L DFC

So I guess this is a Dominator clone? Anybody have one? Been looking into getting a 450 clone kit.

Yes, I'm tempted to get one of these. Looks pretty good. I wonder what Gartt's bearing quality is like.

I would say "marginal to adequate" on the bearings, but with that being said I wish I felt more confident that some of the "name brands" were much better.
I've had good luck with this product in general and happen to think it's an overall value. (fwiw)

Thanks, Rod. I just placed an order for one. The eBay listing wouldn't ship to NZ, but Aria at Gartt said they would do it. I'll look forward to seeing what it's like.

Truly looking fwd to your insight and review. I'm actually getting ready to place an order through RC CHINA MADE which appears to be an online Gartt outlet, (minus the eBay fees). KST DS215mg @ $19.80 ea. is as inexpensive as I've ran across. I'm also going to try out a Hobbywing Platinum 50a v3 and see if I like it any better than the YPG/YEP. I'll keep you posted.

I won't be doing a review, but I'm happy to report back in this thread as to what I think of it.

Yes, I saw those servos, thanks to your mention of RC China Made, the other day. I'll be ordering 3 for the GT450L.

Those Hobbywing ESC's look nice. I'll look forward to hearing about what you think of it.

Does anyone know if the GT450L tail has thrust bearings, like the 450L Dominator?

I've purchased a few of the clone dual arm tail assemblies (which had less slop that my genuine align's btw) and they did not, but upon looking at the Gartt pic's I wonder as well....?

A split lock head & DFC swash, as well as a dual arm tail. Man that's a bunch of heli for the $. But now that you've already ordered it I HAVE to wait for your verdict.

I'd have to fit a thrust bearing tail, if it doesn't. It's a weak area that can easily cause a crash, without them. Yes, it does seem like a lot of heli for the dollars, and the extra cnc parts should make it a lot stronger than the dominator.

One thing I just noticed. The GT450L does not have any provision for the gyro trays, like the dominator.

Hmm, I didn't even notice David. But as usual, you will have it sorted out in short order. I'm interested in the battery tray as well. Hurry up and get the dang thing would ya!
So I put the cheapo kst's in a 450 I built for a customer 2 moths ago, he flies and crashes the thing daily and I couldn't be more impressed, still going strong.

That's good to hear. KST's are ordered from rc china made (came up with Gartt on paypal). I'm going to use the Tarot 1700kv 6S blue motor again. Banggood has it for $20 free ship, and the one in my X3 is still going well.

Yes, I'm interested in the battery tray also. I can see how they are doing the runners, but the catch will be interesting. Hopefully the tray is compatible with the dominator.

I asked Gartt if they had a manual that could be downloaded. They said there is no manual right now, and referred me to the Align 450L manual to assemble the heli.
