Last year I framed up the 50% scale Classic Modelbau Kit for a customer who buillds and flies/operates several several full scale Eagles. Major disappointment in scale fidelity, ease of construction, etc. POOR engineering and building practices throughout. Poorer construction notes and an even poorer German to English translation. Engine is 19 hp. flat four Desert Aircrft type.

I see a disturbing scale error on your drawing, which also plagues the Modelbau effort. The lower wing chord is not the same as upper, being some150mm shorter and proportionally thinner, in section.

I have access to all Eagle construction drawings and hope to render truly accurate scale drawings one day. If I live long enough, that is

The Rick Boyer plans are the Andy Sheber Design, for the Pitts S-1 and S-2, in 1/3 and 1/4 scale. (unless he has Eagle plans I'm unaware of)

You can make an Acceptable stand-off scale Eagle with parts from Fiberglass Specialties (Cowl,Wheel Pants, and Canopy) and some reshaping of the flying surfaces..The interplane struts are different,as is the landing gear.

All the Eagle colors are available from F&M Stits , among other suppliers, if you're going with the aerobatic team's scheme.

I watched the Eagles Aerobatic Team in Latrobe Pennsylvania, many years ago.I wanted to get close-up pictures, and Tom said I'd have to "crew" for them in order to get on the tarmac...I held a bucket and a rag, while we pushed the aircraft to the staging area.

Rick Boyer has the Frank Knoll Eagle plans. They were $55 when I last communicated with him a couple of years ago.

I have Rick's E-mail addy, but I won't post it here..

I sent you a PM...His Pitts plans, from the original Andy Sheber ones show the S-2 at 80" upper wing span.
as previously stated, it makes a reasonable facsimile.

RE: 38% Christen Eagle I
Hi guys,

I just got another order for Christen Eagle fiberglass cowls and wheelpants in last week and I still have the drawings and parts for the Frank Knoll 38% Christen Eagle and Andy Sheber Pitts Special in 1/4, and 1/3 scale (Both the S-1S and S-2A). I competed with two modified Sheber Pitts Special S-1S's at Top Gun for several years and I'm working on a 40% Sean Tucker Challenger II for TG.
