That's cool how you let the LED strips dangle on rear, looks like afterburner flames.

Typhoon night flyer

Here is my old Parkzone Typhoon (the original version), refitted for night flying using HobbyPartz LEDs. Red, blue and green. I added a brushless motor and lipo to help with the extra weight but otherwise everything is stock (including the radio gear and servos). The LEDs are plugged into the lipo balance port. It is very bright (especially the green bottom).

PZ Super Cub Born Again

Here are a couple of pics of mine and a flying buddies super cubs. Each has approx. 150 leds. The leds on the wings are are taped on upside down. Hints the glowing effect. At an altitude of 20 feet and under there is no problem seeing the runway. The planes can be seen at nearly 2 miles away. We thought they were just dust collecters. But now they get trips to the flying field quit often.

43.4 feet of lights!!!!!!! It sucks a 3s 2200mah dead in 15 minutes

I've only had it up once though.

Once I get video I'll post it up.

OK I finally got some video & got it posted. I put the cam on low-lux so it's kinda grainy. It's not as bad as the thumnail makes it look though. LOL

This first flight brought in a couple guys from I-70 about a half mile to the east of the soccer fields where we were. I don't know how far they were at when they saw it though. The interesting thing they did say was the it looked A LOT larger far away than it did when they got to see it close up.

I wish now I had done the bottom all red. It would look better from the ground I think. Maybe I'll change it sometime.

Ist Night Flight (8 min 46 sec)

These appear to be brighter, with higher power consumption, curious to know whatís the power consumption of the standard Hobby King strips

I have no clue what mine are on the Radian. The strip itself is white though & narrower than the copper colored strip lights.

I did find this website. http://www.flexfireleds.com/pages/Co...5050-LEDs.html

If I recall correctly, the HK strips I used (about 25+feet) inside Burned Retina claimed 400mAh draw per every 60 LEDs; however, I do forget what voltage that is based on...

I fly mine on 3s and the 501 LEDs will last just over 4 mins and 30 seconds with a 3s 460mAh- 500mAh battery... then the wing lights fade first, I found out in the air

Thanks Bombay. I might end up getting a couple of the reg LED controllers sometime.

That's the first I'd hear of the micro controller.
