Viper Q500 Wing servo Mod mount

Doing the mods to A Viper that was bought from a guy that had assembled it but I don't think he ever flew it. I wanted to show the wing servo mount because the way the manufacturer has you put it in, it will fail or hang up on something inside the Fuse. Before

In the first pic. Is a standard size servo. With a big swing arm. Way too big. Especially for racing.

No. It's a Hitec 225BB mighty Mini servo. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXN664&P=ML

The servo in the first pic is a Futaba 3003

The Hitec 225BB or the 225MG are very good servos and are used by most in Quickies and Club 40 Planes. I know for a fact that the #1 Club 40 Pilot in Florida uses the 225BB's there only $17.99

In order to achieve what I did. You'll have to cut out slots for the wood blocks to fit into. Also have to cut out one layer of wood on the bottom where the servo sits. When you first start cutting away wood for the wood blocks. It would seem that there's not a lot of wood material for the epoxy to hold onto. You will also be into the foam which is no biggie. No worries. Just add a liberal amount of epoxy amd lay the wood block that sits closest to the leading edge. Let dry. Then do the other one installing the servo at the same time with the servo shaft closest to the trailing edge. Need to have a good Z bender. . Makes a perfect fit.

Also. Don't use the long servo arms. Use the wheel. And mount the push rods to the hole on each side that's closet to the leading edge of the wing. This helps with differential. Adverse yaw in the turns. Also limits anything binding up in the fuse. I'll post a pic later of where i mount the throttle servo. It not the same as Viper does it.
