Aaron's mere mortal build

I have been working on my Mini JW within the small windows of free time I have had lately. I wanted to shoot for a mid-weight build so I opted to put the battery in the wing. My radio gear is as follows:

RX: Spektrum AR400
Battery: Custom Eneloop AAA 4-Cell "2x2" flat pack
Servos: Hitec 82MG

Notes: the RX is tiny but the top plug configuration required mounting the RX on its side to fit in the wing. The 82MGs are fairly thick but fit. One size down in thickness 10mm -> 9mm would help.

Wing is gooped and spackled. Should be finished this week.

I have never been 100% satisfied with the smoothness of my wing tips. This time I smeared white Gorilla glue on the sanded EPP tips and let it cure without spraying with water. Foaming was only 1/16". I then gently sanded the tip back to shape. After the goop and spackled process the tips were very smooth. I will do this process from now on and will also used it on my fuselages.

Mine is almost finished. Wing is covered in 10 mil D.I. with digital skins. Using the coroplast tail, she weighs 20oz before linkages and nose weight. I expect her to land between 25 and 30 oz AUW. The 10 mil added a lot of weight. So did having the battery in the wing, the large servos and massive power switch.
