That is one sharp looking plane IMO. Great way to start 2010 and new planes released.

Not due until mid Feb. 2010. The plane does require some assembly such as servos, motor tube, firewall, struts, horns, etc. Not a problem for most of us, but buyers should be aware that it does require some building a few tools.

Plane does not appear to come with any electronics. This is good for many of us as we already have a box full of goodies to use.

Manual is here: http://www.horizonhobby.com/ProdInfo...250_manual.pdf

I don't care for the wings, they appear to be of the same ilk as what is used on the Slow Stick. I have always had trouble with warpage on those concave, no bottom wings. They don't always hold up well to rough landings either.

Think I will pass on this one and wait to see what else HH/Eflite/PZ come up with.

The wings looked to be the same style used in the Jenny, SE5 and Neuport. If you get the rigging correct the plane will be a dream to fly.

John Redman said to watch the website. Gosh we should have looked a lot more. Maybe there are other things that will "appear" in the next few hours.

Is it their way of saying Happy New Year??

True. Only problem with the SE5 was that the wing would warp if you let the plane lean to one side. Not much to fix but one just needed to make certain that the plane did not sit in a hot car or lay on one of the wing tips for a long period of time.

This little Foker DVII will be fun to fly, but I think that it will probably take some tweaking that the average PZ RTF pilots or fairly new pilots are going to have some trouble with. Not impossible, just a little bit of a learning curve.

Apparently HH have been listening to it customers about providing this type of plane without the electronics. Good move on their part. I may eventually buy one at the end of the summer, I want to first see what others think and what mods people have come up with.

It is not a bad looking bird but it will suffer from the same weakness as all the others in this line, weak wings, poor motor mount, wing twist, weak landing gear, ect.. I have tried a couple of them and could never seem to get them to last and always had to fight to get them built correctly.

I really like it and can't wait to get one. I have the Nieuport and really enjoy it. I must have got a good one, because it has none of the problems mentioned earlier. Flies quite well.

Bring it on! These planes may not be for those with no building experience but in the hands of a modeler they come together and are a dream to fly. Will have to add this one to my collection...
