Should I be concerned about this battery?

This lipo has a little ding in the side of it... should I be worried about it bursting into flames?

I would keep using it but keep an eye on it. As long as it isn't leaking anything its probably fine.

Does it smell like bubble gum? Sweet like?
If so, discharge and toss.

If not, I'd wrap a piece of heavy packing tape over that area and continue to use it.
As always, charge/store and transport in a firesafe container is my recommendation for all lipos but especially damaged ones.

Dings like that are thought to start a crystallization of the cells chemicals which reduces capacity and cycle life. Will it happen to you? ?????

No... no smell at all.... not warm/hot either. Why the tape? To protect it?

I have it in a pyrex type baking dish. Can store it in the oven in the dish also. I wish it was warmer outside at night..... I would just store it outside/charge outside for the summer and then turf it.
Can LiPo's stand freezing temps for storage, not charging?

Tape would be to prevent more damage.

Storage temp for lipos is -20C to 25C at 50% capacity level.
See source of info here.

I normally put a second layer of heat shrink around mine as soon as I buy them.
